Sometimes, with animals, an unexpected health issue may arise, that is why, as a concerned breeder, I have prepared for you a sales contract. Please review it and make sure that you understand the terms, and agree to them, before deciding to purchase a kitten/cat from me. In the unlikely event that a problem occurs we have guidelines for coming to a reasonable remedy.

PET SALES CONTRACT

This is an agreement between Nancy Raber (seller), and __________________________________(buyer), for the purchase of the following property: a __________________________________(breed) kitten or cat:

I. Conditions of Sale. The price, ($_______), is based upon the mandatory altering of the above described cat. The buyer agrees that it is being purchased as a companion only, and no rights to breed this cat are being released. The seller requires verifiable proof of alteration that includes the name and address of a state licensed veterinary surgeon. If this cat is not altered by its first birthday the seller has the right to repossess the animal with no refund, or charge the buyer an additional $1000. It is recommended that the cat be at least 6 months of age when altered. Official papers will be sent to the buyer upon receipt of proof of alteration, or sent within 30 days if the cat is sold as altered. The ownership of this cat may not be transferred to a third party, but must be returned to the seller if at any time the buyer is unable to keep the cat.

II. Health Guarantee. Vaccination records will be supplied with kittens. The cat must be examined by a veterinarian within 48 hours of purchase. If at that time, the cat is determined unhealthy, the breeder must immediately be notified, in writing, on veterinary letterhead, of the reason the veterinarian has determined there is a medical problem, a telephone call to the breeder is necessary before any treatments are given for warranty to be in effect, the seller will replace the cat with one of equal value, or refund the purchase price upon it's immediate return. Cost of this visit, and any testing done is the responsibility of the buyer. Only 75% of the purchase price will be refunded if it is returned within 7 days for any other reason. If this cat dies of a genetic defect within 1 year of age, confirmed by an autopsy and tissue pathology, the cat will be replaced with one of equal value, if, and when, available. Replacement is limited to the original cat. Replacement shipping costs are to be paid by buyer.

III. Care. The buyer agrees that this cat is to have proper food, accommodations, and loving attention; and will not be allowed outdoors without supervision. The buyer further agrees that it will not be abused by humans or other animals, and will receive prompt veterinary attention when needed. The buyer agrees that this cat will never be released to an animal shelter, or leased, given, or sold to any pet shop, or facility that supplies pets for shops. The ownership of this cat may not be transferred to a third party, but must be returned to the seller. All offspring from this cat, either intentional or accidental, are the property of the seller. Violation of any of these conditions will result in repossession of the cat and any offspring with no refund of any costs. The buyer agrees to surrender all registrations in this event.
